THERE’S LONDON AND THERE’S MONDRIAN’S LONDON
It’s a micro lifestyle that one invests in when booking into the Mondrian Hotel
A relatively new addition to the London accommodation, dining, wellness, and bar scene on the South Bank of
the Thames lording over Blackfriars Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Part of the Morgans Group (of Sanderson and St Martin’s Lane fame), Mondrian London at Sea Containers is fifteen floors of boutique hospitality, excellence, and choice.
The hotel is just two minutes by taxi from Waterloo Station and an immediate neighbour to the landmark OXO Tower. The entrance is pure theatre; London signs, Mondrian pieces (the Dutch artist namesake), massive objects d’art, the Titanic – curvaceous reception,
floor lighting to guide you to the Dandelyan Bar, Sea Containers Restaurant, and that Morgans welcome. From the revolving doors to check out, it’s unmistakably Morgans – faultless.
The rooms are spacious and classy with thoughtful layout, comfy luscious beds, and views over the city, over
the river, and over the OXO Tower – ask for your view
of choice and the team are happy to oblige. Drinks in Dandelyan, inspired by award-winning bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana – AKA MR Lyan – and by the great botanists, fruit hunters, and bon vivants who would bring back new tastes from foreign lands. The Dandelyan is all about new horizons, the tenders are the best in the land – there’s even a rum connoisseur on hand!
For some proper pampering, enjoy the lower ground floor Agua Bathhouse and Spa, six treatment rooms, and a couples and thermal suite. There are a nail and grooming lounge, male and female steam rooms with rain showers, and a 24-hour fitness centre – and if fitness is your thing, take an early morning run along the embankment.
Dining in the river level Sea Containers illustrates a fusion between British and American cuisine – by day it’s a bright, bustling brasserie and by night the perpetual movement of the Embankment and the changing light
as London comes to life, enhances an already exciting dining experience. Start with cocktails, a glass of Champagne and sharing platters. Choose from salads and small plates, generous mains, and larger plates to share – served family style!
At the end of the evening, go straight to the top, the rooftop. The Rumpus Room is one of London’s best
bars, overlooking the dramatic London skyline, with a backdrop of music, dancing, and bar theatre. Throughout the week enjoy Jazz and guest DJs.
In an interesting use of resources the Rumpus Room is also used for sunrise yoga – if you’ve had a really good night – it could be a seamless transition from a Long Island to the Lotus...
Make friends with the staff, join the family, and make the Mondrian your London second home...
