It’s 21 years since the very first
Brasserie Blanc ‘ouvert ses portes’,
and at what would nearly equate to a
Brasserie a year since then, the 20th
of Raymond Blanc’s (OBE) chic, yet
affordable restaurants opened in June
in Bournemouth.
The Highcliff Marriot Hotel on the town’s stunning West Cliff is home to Bournemouth’s own Brasserie Blanc.
The restaurant caters for 108 covers in four interconnecting dining rooms, most of which have views out to sea, the Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight.
As if that wasn’t enough, diners, drinkers and nibblers can take advantage of the south-facing terrace – it really is impressive – it can look after over 40 guests there alone, in addition to the restaurant’s capacity. The menu is keenly priced, which is most important to Raymond who said, “It is vital that there is a quality restaurant that the family can visit, monthly for example, that is casual, fun and seriously affordable.”
Asked about the choice of Bournemouth as a Brasserie Blanc location, Mark Derry, Director of Brasserie Bar
Co. said, “We had been looking along the south coast
for great locations for some time, the opportunity to partner with Marriott and to occupy this fantastic space with stunning views was not to be missed. We know the people of Bournemouth and Poole have a passion for good food and we are excited to bring Raymond’s home- cooked French brasserie dining to the town.”
Throughout the 21st birthday year there is a calendar of celebratory events and promotions running across the chain.
The menus will have retro specials in monthly and seasonal rotation, showcasing some of the very best creations from the last 21 years – including; hot smoked
salmon with horseradish and cauliflower cream, guinea fowl confit with wild mushrooms, and chocolate feuillantine with vanilla sauce.
No birthday celebration would be complete without
a cheeky tipple – and Brasserie Blanc’s birthday wine is Chateau du Seuil (red and white), which even has
its own special birthday label! Alternatively, sip on
the celebratory Birthday Crush cocktail (£5), blended with Ketel One Vodka, sugar syrup, pomegranate juice, raspberries & mint leaves – it’s the perfect pre-dinner aperitif.
What a great way to celebrate the arrival of Brasserie Blanc in Bournemouth, and no doubt the celebrations will continue for many years to come, thanks to the passion and honesty that Raymond Blanc OBE brings to each
of his restaurants. He is also a keen supporter of Action Against Hunger – see more of this on P46.
Bon Anniversaire Brasserie Blanc!
