The Chine Hotel is a stunning Victorian hotel set in three acres of the most beautiful mature gardens, with direct access onto Bournemouth Beach opposite Boscombe Pier.
Part of the FJB Group, which also owns three other prestige hotels on the Sandbanks peninsula, the Chine Hotel boasts the charm of its 1930’s history combined with all things essential to make for a memorable stay in an unforgettable environment.
The 79 en-suite rooms are widely refurbished, (some of which are dog-friendly), and most have truly breathtaking sea views. There are several ‘wings’ to the hotel all with their own characteristics – garden views, pool views, sea views, and canopy views. The hotel is understandably popular for weddings and parties, and also welcomes locals to use the large spa.
It has a beautiful indoor pool set below cloisters with poolside sauna, steam rooms, and a Jacuzzi, plus a
20m outdoor swimming pool; beauty treatment rooms,
a modern gym and deck top hot tub. Locals are also welcome to join the gym and invest in day passes to relax around the pool and enjoy the fabulous poolside menu and cocktail list.
Guests can dine in the brasserie-style restaurant for elaborate tapas and à la carte and drink in the Art Deco bar, while enjoying panoramic views out to sea, and basking in the summer weather thanks to al fresco dining
in the gardens and in the pool area. The hotel mixes
the old with the new – a gallery of A-list guests from
the 1930s including Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chester, Vera Lynn, and Norman Wisdom hangs in the hall, which also boasts scores of guests of the hotel chain from the classic age of the stage, when founder Frederick John Butterworth was the owner and operator of the largest independent theatre chain in the country.
The Chine has a new south-facing floating deck over the mature gardens which is proving so popular for afternoon teas, tapas, sundowners and parties.
The hotel is open between April and September each year. 0800 48 400 48
