The speedway season runs from March to October, but Matt works tirelessly 24/7, 12 months a year to ensure the dynamics of the team meet expectations, that synonymous sponsors are in place and that they can reflect in the glory of the club’s successes.
To get a taste of the excitement that is speedway get into Poole Stadium on a Wednesday night – watch the Volvo Cars Poole Pirates’ team of seven, headed up in 2017 by double British League champion Hans Andersen (who debuted in Poole in 2001), reach speeds of up to 100km/h on the brakeless, gearless 500cc bikes. Four laps of the dirt track provide an adrenalin rush for riders and spectators...
Matt can be found prowling the stand during the fixture and in the bar with supporters at the end of the night – the rest of the week, expect to find him occupying the sports pages of the press. Matt is nothing if not vocal and proactive with his passion and opinions, and is as unstoppable as any of his team...
