WE WONDER WINE...
Cape Town is a Marmite of a destination, some folk love it and leave to live there - others are stuck on tales of another century and regime.
Enjoy LOVES Cape Town and will take any opportunity to visit and has racked up a good few air miles out of London Heathrow over the years...
Considering the seasonal appeal (our winter, their summer) this city and region of South Africa should
be a go-to destination from the UK. Couple that with
a negligible time difference (just one hour ahead) you have it all – an overnight flight, dinner at 35,000 ft, a good night’s sleep and breakfast as the sun rises in the Southern Hemisphere and you’re in the wine lands, where two oceans meet, greeted by the majestic Table Mountain and the world-famous beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton – and reminded of the past by what is now a living museum, Robben Island...
Arrive in February for temperatures into the late 20s and a vast choice of live music, dining, events, and sport. It’s a Mecca for cyclists and all things paragliding from the breathtaking mountains that oversee all that the region has to offer.
For a taste of luxury stay at the One&Only Cape Town, the hotel marque that says it all, located right in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. This oasis of tranquillity is home to Nobu, Reuben Riffel in terms of dining and has the largest outdoor infinity pool in South Africa! Dine overlooking the pool and stay in one of the many rooms facing the docks, Table Mountain and the ocean.
Enjoy spent a charming day at Jordan’s Vineyard in Stellenbosch – worthy of a driver to take you into the
wine regions. The exchange rate is so in the pound’s favour that this is a luxury that can be justified – as is the wine tasting, lunch and wine buying that subsequently followed!
A beautiful drive up to the visitor’s centre, shop, restaurant, and new suites. We enjoy a ‘time is of no consequence’ wine tasting in the gardens under trellis trees and pergolas, we sample the Jordan Reserve Range;
